American Psychedelic Practitioners Association

The American Psychedelic Practitioners Association was created out of the need to establish, legitimize, and self-govern the reemerging field of psychedelics. In addition to creating a national home for the diverse community of psychedelic practitioners.  A professional association was formed for practitioners because of the necessity to advocate for the adoption of psychedelic treatments into the healthcare system and to ensure access for all who could benefit.  Practitioners range from ceremonial practitioners and lineage carriers to lawyers and psychologists. 

Center for Psychedelic & Consciousness Research

Johns Hopkins is the leading psychedelic research institution in the U.S., and among the few leading groups worldwide. It’s research is investigating therapeutic effects in people who suffer a range of challenging conditions including addiction (smoking, alcohol, other drugs of abuse), existential distress caused by life-threatening disease, major depressive disorder, anorexia nervosa, Post-Treatment Lyme Disease, depression associated with Alzheimer's Disease, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Johns Hopkins studies in healthy volunteers has also advanced its understanding of the enduring positive effects of psilocybin and provided unique insight into neurophysiological mechanisms of action, with implications for understanding consciousness and optimizing therapeutic and non-therapeutic enduring positive effects.

FIRESIDE Project

Fireside Project is a non-profit that operates the Psychedelic Peer Support Line providing free, confidential support by phone and SMS to people who are actively tripping, supporting others who are tripping, and who are processing the meaning of past trips (whether those trips happened yesterday or 25 years ago).

Psychedelic Support is the leading online education and therapeutic platform in the psychedelic space advocating for mental health and wellbeing worldwide.

Psychedelics Today

Psychedelics Today is a leader in psychedelic media, storytelling, events, and education.  It offers courses on psychedelics and their therapeutic applications. Psychedelics Today is known for its long-running podcast (400 episodes).  The company bridges scientific, academic, philosophical, societal, and cultural disciplines to cover up-to-the-minute developments and dive deep into crucial topics, leading the discussion in this rapidly evolving ecosystem. One of the main areas of focus for Psychedelics Today is the use of psychedelics in therapeutic settings, such as treating mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, and PTSD.  The site also explores the potential of psychedelics in other areas, such as personal growth, creativity and spirituality.

Boston Psychedelic Research Group

The Boston Psychedelic Research Group (“BPRG”) is a nonprofit corporation created in 2018 over an “informal dinner.”  The BPRG is committed to the promotion, dissemination, and advancement of psychedelic research.  It is a hub for education about the powerful benefits psychedelic-assisted therapy can have in treatment of a wide variety of mental health issues. BPRG holds monthly meetings where attendees can gather and converse, hear prominent speakers share their work, and participate in Q&A session. The group has 1500 members and its membership is growing in both Boston and globally.  In addition to its monthly meetings, the BPRG also has the following Affinity Groups:

Chacruna

Chacruna Institute for Psychedelic Plant Medicines is an organization created to educate the public and create cultural understanding and legitimacy regarding plant medicines and psychedelics so that they may cease to be stigmatized and outlawed. Chacruna also promotes a bridge between the world of plant medicines and the emergent field of psychedelic science, between “traditional ceremonial use” and clinical and therapeutic settings, bringing the knowledge and perspectives of the social sciences to health care professionals and practitioners of psychedelic-assisted therapy.

MAPS

The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) is an American nonprofit organization, based in San Jose, California, working to raise awareness and understanding of psychedelic substances.  MAPS was founded in 1986 by Rick Doblin. 

MAPS helps scientists design, fund, and obtain regulatory approval for studies of the safety and effectiveness of a number of controlled substances. MAPS works closely with government regulatory authorities worldwide such as the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA) to ensure that all of its sponsored research protocols conform to ethical and procedural guidelines for clinical drug research.

PsychonautWiki is a community-driven online encyclopedia that aims to document the emerging field of psychonautics in a comprehensive, scientifically-grounded manner.

Center for Psychedelic Therapies and Research

The Center educates the public about psychedelic medicines and trains psychotherapists to work in the expanding field of psychedelic studies.

Dance Safe

DanceSafe provides drug checking resources and tools, including home testing tools like fentanyl test strips, cocaine and MDMA home test kits, as well as non-judgmental information about drugs, sex, consent, and more. DanceSafe’s operating principles are harm reduction and peer-based, popular education. They work to reduce risks and maximize benefits around various human behaviors and support the development of individuals into peer educators.

Erowid

Erowid is a member-supported organization providing access to reliable, non-judgmental information about psychoactive plants, chemicals, and related issues. The organization works with academic, medical, and experiential experts to develop and publish new resources, as well as to improve and increase access to already existing resources. Erowid strives to ensure that these resources are maintained and preserved as a historical record for the future.

M.O.M.

Moms on Mushrooms is a private community platform focused on education, advocacy and connection.  The platform brings mothers together through the sacred practice of plant medicine for a shared journey of personal growth and healing.

PSYCHEDELIC ALPHA

Psychedelic Alpha is an independent newsletter and community that strives to empower a diverse constellation of individuals and organizations with the knowledge, network and nuance to make an impact within the field of psychedelic medicine and beyond.

Psychedelic Bar Association

The Psychedelic Bar Association is an association of accomplished attorneys from all practice areas and perspectives dedicated to solving the novel legal and policy issues impacting the emerging psychedelics sector.

UC Berkeley Center for the Science of Psychedelics

The Berkeley Center for the Science of Psychedelics includes scholars, educators, researchers, journalists, and other professionals, all devoted to promoting health and well-being for all through culturally informed psychedelic research and accessible, accurate, and reliable public education.
